3. Yes, but different colors of vinyl have different additives. I could be mistaken, but I've read that the carbon in black vinyl help reduce groove wear and surface noise. There are some people who think blue or white vinyl sounds better too, though. I suppose it's up for debate, but you don't see many g HiFi pressings that aren't on black vinyl.
